Mira Aerospace, a subsidiary of Space42, conducted Europe’s first HAPS flight, with civilian operations authorization.
Carried out by the ApusNeo18 HAPS model for Telespazio Ibérica in Spain, it highlighted how HAPS can safely operate and deliver real-time intelligence for environmental monitoring operations.
The mission focused on wildfire response, saw HAPS technology offer a comprehensive view of dynamic fire fronts, through AI-enabled data. This achievement stands to improve decision making across governments entities and first responders, reducing critical emergency response times and operational costs.
Taking off from the spaceport located at the Fuerteventura Technology Park, the flight indicates international momentum behind Space42’s strategy to become the preferred partner for premium geospatial intelligence.
